The California Country Garden at Claremont Village Green provides 250 seniors with a lush, country garden designed for strolling, sitting and gathering.
The property owner of Claremont Village Green worked with the landscape architecture team at Claremont Environmental Design Group and Jonescape Construction to create a low-maintenance, water-efficient and universally accessible garden.It replaced an unused set of shuffleboard courts and a concrete recreation area with rolling lawns, meandering paths and collections of beautiful and seasonal plants both native and well-suited to the area.
The garden design brings forward the history of Claremont Village Green by reconceiving the space as a country-style garden complete with an interwoven hierarchy of paths, a range of shaded patios, an articulation of various microclimates, year-round botanical interest, specimen trees, hedgerows and a shaded allee for strolling.
